Slug Catcher

Slug catcher is a static equipment used to eliminate the slug from the oil and gas pipeline at the upstream oil production plants. Slug Catcher can be classifed in two categories;
Vessel type: Is a basic two-phase vessel for separation. The slug catcher-type vessel configuration may range from a basic knockout vessel to a more sophisticated model.
Finger-type: Uses large-diameter pipe sections instead of standard vessels to supply the buffer volume. Since pipe can be built more easily to withstand high pressures compared to a vessel, this design is best suited for pipes with large diameters.
